The United States and President Trump.
Guess what two planets connect President #47 and the USA? The Moon and Mars.
The USA is a Cancer country (Cancer is ruled by the Moon). Trump is a Gemini born at a Full Moon lunar eclipse (his Moon is in Sagittarius). Those who like him, talk about how he connects with them and relates to all kinds of people easily, much like Gemini and Sagittarius. Full Moon people experience an inner schism, a pull between head and heart (again, much like Gemini and Sagittarius). This often represents a profound difference between the individual’s mother and father. Add an eclipse to the mix and we get the potentiality of enormous emotional reactivity. This also appears as a great deal of charisma. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth’s shadow falls on the Moon. From a psychodynamic perspective, the individual deals not only with their enormity of their own emotions but a sense of shadow, of things that have not been consciously explored and so carry a lot of fear and projection. It’s imperative that folks with strong Moons like these, learn about themselves and bring their repressed material to light to avoid acting out unconsciously and thus creating harm.
The Moon is our default, reactive spot. Think baby crying for food, comfort, etc. It’s our connection to mother and nurturing. It’s where we have an experience of being held, or not. We’re often unconscious of the Moon’s operation in our lives. We find ourselves reacting instead of responding, we run our lives according to our emotional needs. The Moon is the place in the chart and our lives where most of our work lies in growing up our “inner babies” so we can approach life consciously.
The more insight a person has into their own nature the healthier they are and the more conscious their behavior is.
Let’s move from the Moon and explore Mars; both cosmic players are rather unconscious.
Mars has to do with what we want. “That’s mine!” is Mars’s refrain. Mars is the planet that gives us definition, vim and vigor (if well placed). And Mars can simply mean aggression. It acts fast, quickly, with no second guessing. It’s only later that Mars regrets and ruminates. This is especially found with Mars ruled people, like Aries folk, who have a lot of regrets in the latter part of life.
Trump’s Leo Mars opposes the USA Aquarian Moon. Or vice versa – the USA Moon opposes Trump’s Mars. That’s a LOT of reactive unconscious energy and it helps us understand why #47 is a larger-than-life presence in every home, worldwide. The sword, Mars, is poking at our homes and feelings, Moon. We can see this disruption in Los Angeles. We can see it in the violent division in the country.
Trump’s Mars is on his Ascendant – he comes out firing fast and strong. With Leo, loyalty is everything. Incidentally, Trumps 26 degree Leo Mars conjuncts Mars in Israel’s chart too (28 degree Leo); which means of course, that Israel’s Mars opposes our Moon (27 degree Aquarius). Talk about personal involvement!
Added to this unconscious, reactive energy is the fact that Trump’s Gemini Sun conjuncts the USA’s Gemini Mars as well. Mars is quick, impulsive, sudden action. This explains his fast actions at the beginning of his Presidency. He is personally involved with the USA. His ego identity is tied up in the country’s actions. This can be positive if smart action instead of angry competitiveness which is Mars’s shadow, is used.
Exacerbating this tender connection are the current transits.
One of the “biggest” transits is the Chiron return of the USA. Our Chiron is at 21˚ Aries. Aries is ruled by Mars. The fifty-year cycle of Chiron began in spring 2024 and ended this Spring (2025). At the time of this writing, June 12, 2025, Chiron is sailing forward yet it will retrograde back to 22˚ Aries in January 2026 suggesting that the pain and the fallout of the self-inflicted wound continues during this period. This time is also when those injuries and accidents, that woundedness that is so prevalent, can be seen and healed.
The United States has been experiencing a Chiron return. What is our wound? We have so many — slavery. The Civil War. The massacre of native peoples. Millions of slaughtered buffalo. and many more. We have many current wounds also, like an enormous national debt, serious differences in value and opinion, climate change, violation of civil liberties, and others. The country is ripe for exploitation in the identity crisis it is experiencing. Ruthless players press forward their agenda despite the injuries it causes.
Chiron in Aries is also the wound of narcissism, and the wounds narcissism create. Imagine people gazing at their selfies… or individuals with a great deal of power, taking all the attention with chaos. Chiron is the wound, Aries is the identity, the me, the first, the I. The loneliness of existence and the insatiable hunger for more, more, as beings swirl onto the event horizon of this black hole called narcissism.
Narcissism is characterized by a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. If any of you have any experience with this personality disorder, you will know how horribly dangerous it is to those who orbit around the narcissist. There is no compassion nor mercy, because there’s no awareness of the other except as narcissistic supply. Narcissistic supply is the fuel that is needed by the sick individual because the narcissist has no source of their own. The person involved with the narcissist endures extreme self-abasement. There’s a dreadful sense of no-center, of not existing at all.

We are all feeling the effects of Trump’s need to feed. We are all, the entire world, caught in his vortex. And, when we compare the charts of both the #47th president and the USA we can see the deep unconscious patterning of both the man and the country via the energy of the Moon and Mars. This is a perfect set up for the revealing of our wounds for their healing.
The USA Birthday Report
The USA is a Cancer country. Cancer is a beautiful, gentle energy. It’s focus is on security and home, food and children. Its shadows are greed and fear. The solar return for the USA 2025 to 2026 shows not only a solar return but a Jupiter return also, at the exact degree of the USA’s natal Jupiter, indicating that this is an enormous year for the USA. Issues related to home, security, international and legal matters take center stage. There’s hope that sanity can be restored and our absolutely enormous debt can be dealt with.
I take solace from Mars’s presence in Virgo. This is an organized placement suggesting that sensibility and efficiency are somewhere in the picture this year. Though this can also amount to a great deal of nitpicking and criticism. Mars makes good connections with abundant Jupiter and both rules the Moon and sextiles it. All very positive, showing we can clean things up very nicely.
Uranus conjuncts Venus suggesting dramatic financial shifts, especially related to public lands but also hopefully in the direction of what we the people want, not what the old school guys driving around in golf cars want. Did you know that’s what’s holding up whether or not to stop daylight savings? It’s a choice between kids waiting in the dark for the school bus, or mostly white guys playing golf in the long evenings. Certainly our national debt is a huge issue; increased costs due to tariffs are reflected in this conjunction, too. Costs, expenses, aesthetics, are all open to rapid sudden change. Keep in mind that the remarkable astrological signature of this time (Saturn conjunct Neptune at 1 and 2 Aries) is in this chart and in the USA solar return’s house of money. This is a visionary time – a time of igniting your vision of the future in a way that has value. Hold your vision sacred my friends! Breathe life into it. The time is now.
The Moon (public) in the USA solar return chart is moody and silent in Scorpio. The USA being a Cancer country, is ruled by the Moon. Good news though, is that Jupiter, happy in Cancer, trines the Moon blessing the populace with abundance. Let’s hope it’s the right kind. The USA’s south node sits on the ascendent in the solar return chart. The ascendent this year is Aquarius, which is the sign of humanity. Pluto is also conjunct the ascendent and the south node. This is a concerning placement suggesting violent struggles for power and a sense of loss. On the plus side, the same placement indicates a return to something that was hard won – like our constitution. Like us understanding our history and our struggles in a new way. When we align with the greater view, we can see that this beautiful country, with its wild and painful history, is undergoing a deep and profound healing. Let’s do all we can to support that.
