Wow! Where did the year go? I can truly say I’m glad it’s gone, though it wasn’t all nuts. I had some incredible experiences on this beautiful planet and I trust you did too. December 2025 finds us in an interesting spot astrologically. We are collectively at a subtle but profound shift that is occurring in our individual lives. The year transitions from 2025 to 2026 but the energy stays the same through the end of February keeping a continuous thread going.
This thread is Neptune and Saturn teetering together at the end of an age in Pisces, moving into the very beginning of the beginning in Aries in February. This odd couple are simultaneously collapsing old structures while building new ones — within you! This is a rebirth; a collective one and a personal one. Real shifts are highly likely!
December is always a magical month. This year it becomes even more so with the visit from 3i Atlas, the third interstellar visitor to come to our solar system since 2017. 3i is an anomaly, a tiny little friend from far, far away, who has flown by the Sun, Earth and Mars and will zoom by Jupiter March 16, 2026. Incidentally, since there’s so much we do not know about this little visitor I like to change its name. 3i Atlas is known as 3I/Atlas but I prefer the way I write it – it looks gentler.
3i Atlas will fly closest to Earth about Friday, Dec. 19th, just a few days from solstice! This rare and precious occurrence makes this solstice very special.
The predominant energy this month is fiery Sagittarius until solstice (December 21) and then it moves to the solid earth energy of Capricorn. Sagittarius encourages the fire of optimism and it fuels hope. With the energy of the archer we get a sense of possibility, the future becomes exciting, and Lord knows we could all use that! Capricorn guides us toward pragmatism taking us into January and sensible plans for the coming year. While Sagittarius lifts us up, Capricorn grounds us.
Jupiter and Saturn harmonize with each other all month long bringing a measure of long-term stability no matter the illusions that surround us.
Let’s look at how the month rolls along:
December 1st the waxing Aries Moon connects with transiting Chiron and the natal Chiron in the chart of the USA revealing the ongoing political crisis this country is in. As I’ve shared before, the USA is finishing up its Chiron return. We’re hurting and hopefully healing at the same time.
Also on the 1st and 2nd, Venus, newly in Sagittarius brings a gypsy vibe. Women’s voices and ideas take center stage as Venus forms a sextile with Pluto and opposes Uranus. It feels exciting.
The 2nd and 3rd the Taurus Moon highlights values. On the 3rd the Moon meets with Uranus and destabilizes finances and love affairs. Conversely, money can be quickly made and new relationships can form.
The Gemini Full Moon on December 4th occurs on the ascendent/descendent in the Sibyl USA astrology chart indicating a significant turn of events for America related to communication, information and ideology. Transiting Mars at this Full Moon sits on the Moon in Donald Trump’s Moon (he was born at a full moon eclipse) so we may see him react angrily toward the public, or receive angry public opinion. This Full Moon highlights differences in opinion with interesting guidance pointing the way to resolution and truth. This comes from Mars in Sagittarius in perfect harmony with Chiron. We’re likely to get glimpses of a hopeful future. Mercury, ruling this Full Moon, is direct in Scorpio making note of everything. Mercury is in harmony with Jupiter bringing beneficial ease and wisdom to the situation.
The energy picks up on the 5th as the Gemini Moon opposes Mars. Avoid angry people and arguments. Further insights emerge as the Moon opposes the Galactic Center. Pay attention!
December 6th and 7th, the waning Cancer Moon brings feelings to the foreground; especially early on the 7th when the Moon meets Jupiter. The two of them form a gorgeous water trine with Saturn and Mercury. There’s a lot of wisdom in this! Your feelings inform your path.
The 8th and 9th the Leo Moon harmonizes with the prevailing Sagittarius energy. Great progress can be made now.
December 10th, Mercury comes into an opposition with Uranus. We can feel that something is getting ready to pop through. In your personal life, use this energy to break old habits. Perhaps you might connect with the universal field allowing greater intelligence into your life. I find Dr. Joe Dispenza’s meditations to be very helpful with this.
The feeling of breaking through continues on the 11th. Mercury trines Neptune and both connect with Uranus. The overall theme of this time is rebirth and we see it now. Mercury enters Sagittarius today and comes into a positive alignment with Pluto. Shift happens! The Virgo Moon helps integrate it all.
December 12th and 13th Mars resonates with the Galactic Center. Tune in, listen up, pay attention. Align your actions with your goals. Align your goals with your truth.
December 13th and 14th the Libra Moon invites connection and balance.
Tune into your inner world during the waning Scorpio Moon on the 15th and 16th.
Early on the 15th, Mars slips out of Sagittarius and enters capable Capricorn while we sleep. Pragmatism becomes a focus.
The Moon enters Sagittarius on the 17th giving you the next couple of days to settle into your inner world. The Moon will be new soon… what is emerging in you?
The Sagittarius New Moon on the 19th resonates with the Galactic Center as 3i Atlas flies by. This is a remarkable New Moon with Venus nestled close to the Sun and Moon. Love is in the air! Financial matters predominate. This is a feel-good wise lunation, and yet something doesn’t quite seem right. Neptune squares the Sun and Moon and Uranus inconjuncts them… we don’t really know what’s going on only that something is happening. Or perhaps, conversely, that which was obscure becomes clear. Black Moon Lilith opposes Uranus – listen to women’s voices. Past misdeeds are exposed.
The Capricorn Moon meets Mars on the 20th. It’s a good day for action of all kinds.
Early on Sunday December 21st the Sun enters Capricorn at winter solstice. Please join me and Dee Jaquet at the Sophia Center in Palisade (info below). Solstice is a sacred time. The Sun is as far south as it can go leading to the shortest day of the year. Perhaps more accurately, the Sun rises at its southernmost point here in the Northern Hemisphere, signaling the shortest day of the year. The Sun appears to linger in a three day pause and then “rises” again restoring light. Perhaps you might find a way to celebrate this annual celestial event. Celebrate the magic of it. Plant your seeds. Find your path.
The 22nd and 23rd the growing Moon travels through social and intellectual Aquarius. It’s time to connect the dots. Especially on the 22nd when the Moon meets powerful Pluto.
On the 24th, loving Venus leaves off her travels for Capricorn business. She reminds us to buy less and that which we purchase is to last a long time.
The 24th and Christmas Day the Moon travels through the gentle sign of Pisces encouraging your connection with Spirit. This is a precious, holy time.
Dreams are especially poignant the morning of the 26th. Note the messages you receive as they linger through the day. This is thanks to the Moon’s conjunction with Saturn. Dreams continue that night as the Moon meets Neptune. Stay tuned to higher wisdom.
The Moon enters Aries early on the 27th and for the next two days brings new energy and a little tension.
The 29th and 30th the Taurus Moon resonates with the prevailing Capricorn energy. This is stabilizing. Long-term practical solutions emerge.
The month ends with a brisk Gemini Moon conjunct unpredictable Uranus. 2025 ends tonight! There’s still a surprise or two waiting for you in 2025. Keep your eyes open. Tomorrow 2026 will begin but we know already that there is a seamless thread winding through your journey. What is it, you wonder? What is dissolving in you, what old modus operandi is falling away? What unimagined dream is coming into focus for you? What glorious possibility is whispering your name? Before you let go of this 9 year numerologically, 9 being the end, contemplate your renewal for the 1 year coming up.

We come together to celebrate and honor our existence as Earthlings on this beautiful planet, to plant seeds of consciousness and to thank our Earth home. This prepares us for the coming year and sends our intention out into the World.
This is an outdoor event. Please dress accordingly. Wear sensible shoes, the ground is uneven in spots.
Bring a camp chair if you want to sit. If you have a drum or rattle, bring that too.
We begin at 1:00 pm and end at 2:00 pm.
