August 2025 – well how about that.

Greetings Earthlings,

August is the month of fire and heart. Through to August 22nd, the Sun travels through its home sign of Leo. This is the area of your life where your dynamic strength lives. It’s a youthful, courageous energy that uplifts and encourages. Leo is also stubborn and fixed giving you permission to push forward on projects, especially creative ones. Consider love, romance, play, and time with your children, no matter their age, your priority this month.

There’s a caveat this year though because Mercury is retrograde until August 11th, suggesting delays are probable until or even beyond to August 26th when Mercury passes through its shadow phase.

The energy shifts profoundly when the Sun enters Virgo on the afternoon of August 22nd. Virgo invites a sensibility. There’s a return to order and cleanliness that works with the previous Leo drive. See if you can find a seamless thread for this month that guides you along an effort of will toward a tidy conclusion. For me, it’ll be the recording of my book Heartfelt. I’ll be reading it for Audible while the Sun is in Leo, and fine tuning and uploading it to Audible during the Virgo time.

The month begins in the vibrating cosmic atmosphere of this new time. What a unique age this is! The early degrees of Aries, Gemini and Aquarius are humming. We are accelerating and changing. The evolutionary process is key…

Dear friends, we are all in the global transformation together! The Earth herself is evolving. Of course, we all have our individual genius to bear toward that larger transformation. As Dale used to say, the greatest expense in life is failure to pay attention. My friend Cassandra, whom I’ve written about before, actually measured the cost of paying attention when she woke from an instructive dream the other night to record the details, putting the light on etc. It turned out the cost of attending to the incoming wisdom was a couple of hours sleep.

Paying attention can illuminate the unfurling stepping stones that lead to our collective individuated spark. This mystery is Pluto in Aquarius sextile Neptune (and Saturn) in Aries, and that particular sacred geometry it makes with Uranus in Gemini (sextile to Aries and trine to Pluto). Yes, my friends, our small lives are much bigger than we imagine.

On the lowest levels of consciousness in the human world things are mad. The human world is a TV show of insanity and sickness.
There is a great deal of shite flying around. I so hope the flying shite doesn’t hit your fan to wake you up to the evolutionary process that is occurring. However, some of us need that cosmic two by four – you know who you are.

Here’s how the month rolls along:

The first two days of the month the waxing Scorpio Moon gives you the opportunity to feel into your emotions. Stay the course even though, as once again, adjustments need to be made. Mars in Virgo makes an awkward angle to Chiron in Aries. Sometimes doing the right thing hurts even as it heals.

Expect flow on the 3rd through to the midday on the 5th as the Aries Moon makes fiery connections with the prevailing Leo energy. Exercising your independence is key while taking the other into consideration.

Breakthroughs occur on the 6th when the sturdy Capricorn Moon opposes both Venus and Jupiter. Enjoy the abundance of food and love without going over the top.

Late afternoon (MDT) on August 6th, Mars enters Libra for the first time in two years. This is not the best placement for Mars according to old school astrology, but it is a position of wisdom – over the next few months we learn about the energy contained in relationships.
The 7th through the 8th, the Moon builds to fullness. There is much to say. Independent thinking is required as the Moon connects with Pluto and opposes Mercury on the 8th.

August 9th while we sleep, the Moon peaks to fullness in Aquarius. There’s synchronistic energy with this lunation – Mars in Libra trines Pluto and Uranus in Aquarius and Gemini respectively. Where, how and with whom can you pool resources (like ideas and know how)? Let your dreams bring you insights. Pay attention!

The energy lingers in strange ways the 10th through the 12th with the Moon’s passage through psychic Pisces.

Lots of emotional energy the 13th and 14th when the Moon travels through Aries and touches tender places. Try not to take anything personally but do see an opportunity for healing on the 14th when the Moon meets Chiron.

15th and 16th the Moon stabilizes in Taurus but brings tense moments and sudden shocks as it first squares the Sun then connects with Uranus.

August 17th, 18th and 19th the Gemini Moon has lots of ideas about how things should be.

The 19th, through 21st the Cancer Moon brings feelings into the foreground. Notice what your heart is telling you.

The 19th feels magical as the Moon nestles between Jupiter and Venus

The 20th the Moon meets Venus and whispers something important. Listen in to your wise heart.

The late afternoon of the 20th (MDT) the Moon enters Leo and goes dark. A New Moon is about to be born. This is the time to deeply consider your one precious life and to plant seeds of both creativity and courage.

August 22nd, the Moon close at its heels, the Sun enters Virgo shifting the energy completely. Notice how that feels.

Just after midnight on August 23rd, the Moon meets the Sun at the annual Virgo New Moon. With angles of adjustment to Saturn and Neptune, this New Moon tests the toughest part of your life. In order to proceed, some little change is needed. One thing is for certain – question the TV show that is life in the USA right now. Make your own reality by connecting your crown chakra to your highest self and the ascendant masters beyond that. In that pure love lies your true self and authentic path.

The Virgo Moon carries us through the next two days. Tune into the rhythm of your life and all the little details of which it is comprised. Feel gratitude for that.

The morning of August 25th (MDT) Venus enters Leo bringing a further surge of fire and drama. Love affairs take a turn toward the theatrical. Music opens you up.

On the 27th the Moon opposes Chiron and exposes areas that need healing.

The 28th and 29th, the Scorpio Moon deepens your observations of the world. Notice your own powerful response to what you perceive.
The month ends on a Sagittarian Moon lifting spirits but also perhaps bringing a little dogma. It seems everyone has a piece of the truth and yet only details and facts will tell the full story.

As we approach the coming eclipse season in September, let the month of August refuel your sense of purpose. Leo and Virgo show you the way toward what is both fulfilling and doable. Remember, we are in completely new terrain. Think for yourself, stick to your path, make adjustments as needed and keep that heart open. And above all, remember, you matter, we are all connected, earth is our home, and love is our destination.
