Greetings dear Ones,
The redbud tree across the street bursts its glorious self into brilliant pink blossoms. Everywhere, life leaps and serenades in this northern hemisphere spring. The opposite is true in the southern hemisphere. There, Libra marks spring. Recognizing the unity of these opposite signs in their same task shows us something about the times we’re in — the individual is connected to the all.
The cosmic events of the month of May 2025 reveal the birth we’re experiencing.
Though the Sun is in Taurus until May 20th, there’s a rush of forward momentum with three celestial bodies in Aries. Taurus is the earth container for the candle flame of Aries. Aries is the astrological Ain Soph, the limitless Divine Essence that sits at Kether, the crown in the Tree of Life. This is the Aries point. It is the origin point of new ideas, Enlightenment, altruism, humility, seed-planting and other wonderful human qualities. Aries reminds us of the uniqueness of each individual while Pluto, newly in Aquarius, reminds us of the power of the collective.
May begins with Venus in Aries. This is magnified when Father Time himself, enters Aries (for the first time in 30 years!) on the 24th to join Neptune the planet of dreams and forgiveness, already in the sign of new beginnings. Saturn and Neptune’s union helps us see and feel the turning of this age. Spiritual embodiment is the term my friend Cassandra gives this union. I believe this spiritual embodiment is the full inhabiting of either the density of divisive thought or the high vibration of love. We can see this as being either stuck at the 4th dimension or rising to the 5th.
The month of May gives us all an opportunity to recognize the futility of the free-fall into war and destruction, starvation and loss that abound due to fixed beliefs, revenge, greed, and pain. It’s a ridiculous thing that on this beautiful globe, we behave like this. We’re beginning to get very, very, tired indeed of the madness. The celestial occurrences of May help us facilitate our shift, even the shocking, possibly difficult days following the Scorpio Full Moon in the last two weeks of the month.
But the good stuff starts straight away when we see Venus, the Goddess of love, beauty and wealth in new territory – in Aries and with Neptune! Wow! This is a fresh start, a new face, a whole new hopeful song.
There’s a caveat though, the shadow of Aries is known as being self-centered, impulsive and self-absorbed. Consider the public figures on the world stage right now and see where the ego-wounds lie. Some of these folk have deep wounds that occurred early in their development, these are narcissistic injuries that lead to a voracious hunger for attention. This is the realm of both the Hungry Ghost and the Jealous Gods, and it is very dangerous energy because it can never be satiated no matter how much attention these ill people get. So more and more chaos is created to feed their insatiable greed and the peace we have the right to enjoy is destroyed. People’s lives are inconsequential to these aberrant personalities.
Use the power of Pluto, now in the sign of the people, to keep your first amendment rights and to strengthen community. The fearlessness of Aries’s valiant warrior spirit is supported by Mars’s journey through courageous, confident Leo. This can truly be a new time! Lift your heart up and let love be your strength.
The month of May begins with a waxing Cancer Moon. This sets the tone for the thirty-one days in front of us. Emotions are high, people have needs and want to protect their assets. The waxing Cancer Moon brings our thoughts and feelings toward the things that matter most to us. Folks are yelling “hands-off”.
High emotions carry us through to May 3rd when the Moon enters fiery Leo and meets feisty Mars. This occurs opposite powerful Pluto so watch out! This is a time of dramatic outrage. Use it personally to get in touch with your will power.
The next few days resonate with drama. Stay grounded. Meanwhile, Pluto slips into retrograde and turns our work inward to our own shadow.
On the 5th, the Moon enters the sensibility of Virgo and harmonizes with the Taurus Sun bringing a much-needed sense of order and grounding. This earth focus reminds us that money is dead. It is not alive. The earth is alive, bird song, tiny spinach shoots, these things are alive. Put your energy there.
On May 6th, good thing we’re grounded as today chatty Mercury meets sensitive Chiron. Notice what you’re thinking and saying.
A serious tone lingers on the 7th when the Moon opposes Saturn. What lesson are you learning?
Balance is needed on the 8th when the Libra Moon opposes Venus in independent Aries.
May 9th and 10th the Libra Moon reveals the places where others fit into your life.

May 11th and we’re now in Scorpio Moon territory and can feel it.
The Moon waxes to fullness at 11:00 am MDT on May 12th at 22˚ Scorpio. This is an intense (the classic word for Scorpio) Moon! Uranus, the planet of change and chaos, the great awakener itself, is a part of this lunation. Revelations occur! Secrets are spilled. Sexuality pulses. Jupiter squares the north node – the judicial system is called into service to the truth.
The energy shifts and expands with the Sagittarian Moon.
May 13th through to the 15th, the Sagittarian Moon creates a fire trine with Neptune and Venus in Aries, and Mars in Leo, highlighting the new frontier we find ourselves in. What does your heart tell you about the truth? What new frontier are you leaning into? Big insights possible on the 15th when the Moon opposes Jupiter and then connects with the 9th Dimension in the center of our Milky Way Galaxy.
May 16th and 17th the waning Capricorn Moon gets to work. Business matters.
Cosmic shift on the 17th when the Sun and Uranus resonate at 27˚ Taurus. Algol, the “demon star” is at 26˚ Taurus. These three celestial bodies square Donald Trump’s Mars and ascendant. What sudden unpleasant change will occur today to the President?
May 18th and the shock continues as the Aquarian Moon meets Pluto. Let’s pray no one does anything stupid. Stand up for your rights. This is the time of the individual remember.
Science and observation count on the 19th with the Moon’ s continued move through Aquarius.
The Sun enters Gemini on the 20th and spreads seeds and ideas around. This is a profound cosmic shift that seems to speed up time. Gemini invites the sharing of ideas and concepts, much as the spring wind blows seeds around and bees land on flowers. Where and how can you integrate new material and what way will these new perceptions expand your understanding? Be mindful of Gemini’s shadow which is found in falsehoods and glibness.
Tenderness and reflection is called for the 21st and the morning of the 22nd with the Moon slipping through Pisces and meeting Saturn. Slow things down.
The waning Moon enters Aries the afternoon of the 22nd and connects the dots bringing the new ideas to fertile minds.
The 23rd Venus and the Moon in Aries blow kisses to Mars in Leo. Seems we can get along after all.
Prepare for the coming New Moon on the 24th and 25th. Get grounded. Seriously. Know your value and your values as the waning Moon travels through earthy Taurus.
On the cusp of the New Moon – a major cosmic shift occurs.
May 24th is a major cosmic shift … Mercury connects with Uranus bringing unexpected change and possible weather events and then… cosmic drumroll please! Saturn who represents our created reality, enters Aries – the first sign of beginnings – for the first time since April 1996. What was happening for you then? Saturn in Aries individuals are those who have to make their own mistakes. You can tell them, don’t touch that it’s hot, and they will touch it to find out for themselves. That’s the next two and half years we’re moving into. It’s instant karma. We’re coming face to face with our hubris. And also, as previously mentioned, a time of embodied spirit. Explore new frontiers in thought, spirit, and practice. This is the time of a new birth.
Mercury enters Gemini on the 25th and helps you connect the dots. Pay attention. As Dale used to say, the greatest expense in life is failure to pay attention.
The 6˚ Gemini New Moon at 9:43 pm on May 26th gives us a new way of integrating and perceiving. In a trine with Pluto in Aquarius, transformation is highly possible. Set your intention to maximize your potential in service to the highest and best to all.
The rest of the month, Mars moves into a closer alignment with his love, Venus. Set your heart in a loving space.
May 27th brings loads of Gemini and Aries energy. This is effervescent and bubbly and feels light. Where and how can you lift yourself and others?
May 28th the Moon meets Jupiter. Things could feel quite over the top! Legal matters predominate.
The Moon travels through sensitive Cancer on the 29th and 30th helping us access our feelings. It’s a good time to show your love.
The month ends with a warm Leo Moon. Everything comes back to the heart. The heart is where we live in integrity and Leo is the energy of the heart. I wrote a great book about the heart. It’s a fictional tale of a woman who heals her broken heart through the relationships other humans and animals offer her. I hope you read it. We’re in a new time friends. It’s going to necessitate a consciousness upgrade. Go for it.
