Dear Ones,
Green pokes through the dry straw of the lawn. A breeze flutters the dove who lands crookedly on last year’s grass stem. We’re through the eclipse window. We’re in a new country now; it’s a place we’ve never been before. The God/dess of Water has entered the scorched landscape of fire. Neptune into Aries is a 164-year cycle. The liminal cells within our clay bodies know this energy, but our functioning egos do not. To understand what this is to you, listen in. Feel inside to your ancestor cells. There’s a soft stirring there, a whispered message about your new path.
This is just an introduction though. Both Neptune and Saturn (more about Saturn in a future blog) will straddle the cusp between the end – Pisces, and the beginning – Aries, through most of 2025. Can you be patient with yourself as you move from the sticky wax of the past to the vibrant frontier of the new? Or does the old feel safe, and the new threatening? Give yourself and those around you plenty of time and space to play in the potentials that exist in this rare moment.
The last time Neptune entered Aries (April 12, 1861) the American Civil War started. There were other cosmic factors at that time creating a wild mayhem, like a Mars/Uranus conjunction in Gemini activating the Uranus in the USA chart and the descendent/ascendent, (similar to the Saturn/Pluto opposition at 9/11 and the catastrophic fall of the Twin Towers.) Now is less crazy, but perhaps equally as confusing, because, as then – Neptune is sliding around at the bottom of the USA chart. What does individual freedom look like? With Pluto in social Aquarius, is it about me and my agenda? Or is it about us? Or is it me – you? Are we one?
I think we all know the answer to that.
Here’s how April rolls along in this new time, this fresh start, this unknown terrain:
Compassion, women’s affairs (which are human matters) predominate. Forgiveness, love and gratitude are excellent practices for this time with very real tangible results as Venus and Mercury are both retrograde, conjunct in Pisces for the first week of the month.
Until the middle of April, keep going with your long-term plans as Mars and Saturn continue their harmonious relationship in water signs.
April 1st – we begin our journey on somewhat shaky, but still familiar ground, as the waxing Moon in Taurus meets Uranus. Know what you value and ask, what else?
April 2nd – big news and ideas as the Moon, now in Gemini, meets Jupiter. Judicial matters predominate.
April 3rd – the energy shifts. Notice your emotions. Kindness matters.
April 4th – April 7th – consider the long-term; especially in love and financial matters as Venus meets Saturn. This is a good practice through to the end of the month, as the relationship between the lover (Venus) and time (Saturn), continues until then.
April 5th – could be quite exciting! Mars and the Moon meet and blow kisses to Venus and Saturn.
April 6th – April 7th – the waxing Leo Moon shines light upon the disparity between the haves and have nots. Things heat up. On a personal level, get into your art.
April 7th – cosmic shift as little Mercury turns direct. Speak clearly. Look out, what’s happening?
April 8th – April 10th – the stabilizing Virgo Moon calls our attention to efficiency and health. Clean up your act, and your neighborhood.
April 10th feels serious. Take care of the little things. It’s okay to outline the details of relationships if you need to discuss your togetherness.
April 11th – ouch! The Sun and Chiron meet. This is within two degrees of the USA Chiron so it’s about all of us. Wounds can heal!
April 12th – the Libra Full Moon. Like all full moons this may feel over the top; OTT as my brother says. This one has a sensitive sting. There’s an acute painfulness (Sun conjunct Chiron). Don’t take anything personally but do look at your place in the scheme of things. Action is required along with further tension as Mars squares both the Moon and Sun.
There’s also a sweetness at this relational Libra Full Moon as love sails forward when Venus stations direct. Oh la la. What new terrain can your heart traverse? What’s the relationship like with yourself and others? Where and who is hurting or healing who? As always, gentleness is a fierce strength. Try it out.
April 13th – 15th the fallout from the Full Moon continues and deepens with the Moon’s journey in Scorpio. Have the courage to feel this through. There’s resistance and struggle at a profound level as Mars comes into a slow opposition with Pluto, coming exact in the last week of April.
Early on April 16th – there’s another cosmic shift, this time toward a new and personalized vision. Mercury re-enters Aries – what was going on for you just a few weeks ago, at the end of March? This is a remarkable day! It’s the day to get in touch with your highest vision as Mercury meets Neptune in Aries. An important old message with new conations is shared. Listen.

April 17th/April 18th – a significant cosmic shift as Mars enters the compatible fire of Leo. Watch out! Things are getting hot, especially as Mars opposes Pluto over the next few days. Where are you directing your energies? Feel your strength!
April 19th – and the energy keeps shifting. The Sun enters earth Taurus and squares Mars. Hold your ground. Stand in your rooted strength. Creativity is juicy! With the Sun in Taurus, we’re able to truly acknowledge ourselves as creatures of our Earth home. The next 20 plus days are your opportunity to dig into the reality of your life. What is the shape of your life?
April 20th – personalized intel comes your way when the Moon meets Pluto and both oppose Mars. Sometimes you have to stand strong, that’s all there is to it. The energy of Easter and the resurrection is here now.
April 21st – April 22nd – get with others. You are not separate. You belong. You are needed, yes you, just as you are. The Aquarian Moon shows the way. Venus and Saturn are exactly conjunct again. Values and aesthetics matter. Make something beautiful and long lasting. How appropriate Earth Day is on the 22nd. Oh, do celebrate our beautiful planet, maybe pick up some trash, do something sweet for her.
April 23rd and 24th – bring things to a conclusion. Diffuse (forgive) heavy energy. The waning Moon travels through gentle Pisces. Let it go.
April 25th – so many lessons, in so many ways as the Moon meets Venus, Saturn and then Neptune as it enters Aries. Hold onto the new hope. Here’s mine: all wars stop immediately. Smart technology transforms pollution to healthy outcomes. Poverty and hunger erased. Children are safe and free to play and explore their curiosity. All wild beings have access to migration and easeful enjoyment of life. What’s your hope?
April 26th – ouch! Boy, there are some owies this month; but this can also mean healing. The balsamic Aries Moon meets sensitive Chiron. Personal insight is highly likely.
April 27th – the Taurus New Moon invites a grounded rebirth. This is a day for a true commitment to what you love and value. And it’s not surface or easy! Mars opposes Pluto suggesting that your life may change in some way.
April 28th – brings a few surprises. Roll with them if you can.
The month ends with a quickening energy. Events and thoughts gather vitality with the waxing Gemini Moon, especially when it meets abundant Jupiter on the 30th.
April is about a new world, a grounded landing pad, a precious place to call your studio. April is a flower waiting to bloom, to turn into a bud, and then to turn into fruit which we then eat. How good is this planet! How sweet its joys.
