Greetings Earthlings,
Well, here we are deep in the energy of Scorpio. You feel it, I’m sure. I hope you’ve been smart or lucky enough to get out in the endless summer we enjoyed here in SW Colorado. The changing leaves gave endlessly of their generous golden beauty, enriching our souls. But alas, on the human realm, there is a dark pall of madness and mayhem, of power and greed. The best things you can do this month are to practice peace and stay close to your spirit by listening in frequently. This will require meditation, prayer, long walks in nature, anything that brings you inner stillness.
The prevailing energy of Scorpio benefits greatly from your attention to your spirit. Scorpio is a psychic juicy sign. It puts us in touch with what lies beneath the surface. It’s stubborn and regenerative. This is your time of year to dig deep and to illuminate your path with the wisdom of your soul. This is followed by the wisdom and optimism of Sagittarius on the 21st.
Here’s how things roll along …
November begins with the annual Scorpio New Moon, just before 7 am MDT Friday November 1st at 9°35’ Scorpio. The Scorpio New Moon is always the best time to put down your most serious and intentional seeds. This particular New Moon has even more depth and power thanks to the exact oppositional relationship between active Mars, defensive in Cancer, and bad boy Pluto in the last degrees of Capricorn, the sign of government and rules. This lets us know this New Moon holds potential for collective action and is clearly playing out in the USA.
But that’s not all there is to this New Moon. There’s also an opposition between Mercury at the almost-last-degree of Scorpio and Uranus in Taurus leading to who-said-what moments and sudden breakthroughs or breakdowns in communication. And as if that wasn’t enough magic, mystery and mayhem for you, Venus and Jupiter oppose one another. Oh, and not to be outdone, Venus and Saturn square and dreamy Neptune sends its wispy tendrils to connect with Mercury, Mars, Uranus and Pluto. Oy vey!
This lunation has a lot to do with wealth and the distribution of power. It has to do with love, and the law; with other cultures, with opinions and unveiled ignorance; with secrets, sex and intrigue. It also has to do with hope, forgiveness, and basic truths. It’s a stubborn energy where folks want what they want. You can tell, can’t you, that this New Moon holds a lot of potential. How will you use it?
Personalize this new beginning. Claim it for yourself and your values. Don’t let the prevailing talking heads fill your head. Really truly consider what you want and what you can actually manage. Let yourself expand with possibility and feel your deepest desires, allowing them to come to the surface with respect and care. Perhaps you really don’t want what you thought you did. Perhaps you’ve been yearning after something (or someone) based on childhood programming or base instinct instead of true freedom. This lunation asks us to elevate our consciousness by showing us our shadow. Be brave. Choose your direction wisely!
This New Moon reminds me of a stopped clock and the fantasy that it is working when in fact it is correct only twice a day, and that’s all! Think for yourself.

The steamy intrigue continues through November 2nd as the Moon travels through Scorpio while Mercury and Mars connect the dots. Animated conversations about deep things, occur.
Also on the 2nd, Mercury leaves Scorpio’s intensity for Sagittarius’s opinions. Perhaps things will feel lighter, perhaps not. Either way, Mercury will have to retrace some of its steps from November 25th to December 15th, therefore don’t believe everything you hear and be mindful of your own words.
The evening of November 3rd, the first day of Daylight Savings Time, Mars enters Leo for the first time in two years and stays there an extra three weeks when it retrogrades from Dec 6th to February 23rd back into Cancer. So, much like Mercury, we’re going to see a lot of backwards and forwards (I wonder what that’s about, she said sarcastically). But for the month of November, Mars is direct and bold in Leo. Hold your heart open and warm. Mars in Leo opens the creative centers and gives voice to your confidence.
There’s fire in the sky over the next few days as the Moon travels through Sagittarius.
On November 5th, 6th, and 7th, the Capricorn Moon lends a somber tone to the days. A good thing for election day on the 5th when we appreciate Capricorn’s commitment to order. November 7th, the Moon meets Pluto for exposé and power struggle.
The intellectual and stubborn Aquarian Moon carries us over the next few days, briefly opposing Mars early on the 8th. In the meantime, Mars continues to directly oppose Pluto well into mid-month letting us know that a fight is on. (Mars and Pluto will dance in opposition on and off through to January 2025 indicating a long tough fight for supremacy).
On the 10th, Venus hovers at the last degrees of Sagittarius and the Galactic Center bringing a bright visionary perspective to our precious Earth home. Also on the 10th, the waxing Pisces Moon meets stern Saturn and squares Mercury. Everything feels uncertain and confusing. Stay close to the Great Mystery, to the holiness of spirit.
November 11th Venus enters pragmatic Capricorn as the Moon meets Neptune. Order prevails and prayers are heard though we may not know it at the time.
November 12th and 13th the Aries Moon helps you access your feelings, especially when the Moon meets tender Chiron on the 13th. These two days are good for independent action.
Over the next few days, the waxing Taurus Moon holds things steady while the energy builds. As a quote in the hilarious little book Just One Fool Thing After Another says, “There’s a lot to be said for patience, in time even an egg will walk.”

November 15th, the 20° Taurus Full Moon brings surprises as both the Moon and the Sun connect with rebellious change-agent Uranus and the bad-rap star Algol. Women especially are vocal and passionate at this time. Full Moons are always big affairs, and this one is no exception. Uranus brings unexpected change and opposite the Sun (authority) this energy may feel very unsettled. Fallout from the election may reach yet another crescendo as people experience shock. Financial matters, technology issues, food security, bottom line stuff, receive the Uranian lightning bolt of chaos and/or brilliance. The rhetoric is over the top as Mercury opposes Jupiter, though there is background voice of reason as Saturn squares Mercury, who is speeding by but will soon stop and retrograde. Mars and Pluto are opposite one another. Ground yourself in your values. Avoid impulsive action but do get moving.
The Full Moon energy carries over the next few days as you attempt to connect the dots. The Moon enters Gemini, opposes Mercury and connects with Jupiter. There’s a lot of nervous, quick communications going on, and there’s also tremendous problem solving. Pay attention.
November 17th, Mercury and Jupiter reach an exact opposition from the mutables Sagittarius and Gemini. Oh boy, are the words flying! And so too is wisdom. In all the verbiage there are pearls of great price. Tune into your inner voice to perceive the truth. Meditate, write, research. And turn off the talking heads!
The Cancer Moon carries the reverberating energy over the next few days. Nurture yourself and those you love.
November 19th and Cosmic drum roll please! Pluto leaves stuffy old (but oh so safe and practical) Capricorn and enters social Aquarius! The moment we’ve all been waiting for. At last, the old age is over, and the new one is here, for better and for worse. It’ll be 250 years before Pluto comes back to Capricorn. Now we see the balance of power shift to the masses, to science, and to hopefully (please God) equanimity.
Early on the 20th, when the Moon enters Leo, it meets Mars and opposes Pluto. Big dramatic feelings may come up. Tune into your heart. Practice gratitude. Gratitude will change everything to the better.
The energy is beginning to shift. We’re getting to the tail end of Scorpio and the Leo Moon lifts spirits. On the 21st the Sun enters hopeful Sagittarius and brings in expanded vision. Sagittarius also represents immigrants. A popular chart for the USA has Sagittarius rising – we are a nation of immigrants (and a country of indigenous people and we know what happened to them).
The Moon travels through discerning Virgo through to the 24th bringing much needed calm and an opportunity to clean up.
Mercury turns retrograde on November 25th and with it an opportunity to re-visit and evaluate recent events and conversations. These next three weeks are valuable for tying up loose ends and reflecting on the past year. Mercury will turn direct on December 15th.
The Sagittarian Sun comes into an angle of harmony with Mars on the 26th. Pay attention to your body – how does it want to move today? What would enhance your sense of self-esteem?
The Libra Moon carries us over the next few days in a restoration of balance and calm.
On the 27th the Moon enters Scorpio and brings buried feelings to the dreamscape. Tune into your dreams over the next few days.
Thanksgiving on the 28th shows a lovely, and possible emotional, connection with the Moon and Saturn. Mars in Leo invites play and fun. Yes! Thank you, thank you.
The Moon leaves the intensity of Scorpio on the 30th and enters the darkness to prepare for rebirth at the Sagittarius New Moon late that night. Here is an opportunity to seed your greatest vision for the year ahead. This is a healing New Moon. Chatty Mercury kisses wounded Chiron suggesting this rebirth time seeds potential for shared ideas and discourse.
Gosh, what a month, and what a sweet ending, even though events may not present themselves visibly just yet. Patience! Remember, given time, even an egg will walk. Keep in mind, your ability to align with the light, to be in gratitude and to move through the world in peace, has merit. It will yield results. So hang in there!
Thanks for reading, and remember, you matter, we’re all connected, Earth is our home and love is our destination.
I’ll see you back here in December.
Your astrologer,
Dulce
